The Volkswagen Comfort Coupe (CC) entered the market at the beginning of 2008 as the Passat CC. Similar to the current VW Passat, the CC is a compact executive sedan.

It comes in only a front-engine mounted, 4-door sedan configuration. There are options for front-wheel or 4motion on-demand four-wheel-drive. This model is built on VW’s Group A6 platform.

Obviously, the CC is very closely linked to the VW Passat, being considered a smaller version. Outside competition comes from the Honda Accord, Toyota Corolla, and the Subaru Legacy.

While the VW CC has only had one generation, it did go through a facelift in 2012. This facelift included revisions to both the front and rear exteriors. There were some additional changes made to the interior, like changing the ACC control panel to match the Passat Alltrack.

The engine options for the car include petrol and diesel engines running from a 1.4-liter TSI all the way through to the 3.6-liter 4motion.

Transmission options included a 6-speed manual, automatic, and Direct-Shift gearbox (DSG). There was also a 7-speed DSG option available for both the 1.4-liter and 1.8-liter TSI engines after 2012.

The CC was later discontinued in 2017 as a result of poor sales. In fact, it was the lowest-selling model in the VW lineup in 2015. The VW Arteon was introduced as a higher-quality replacement for the CC from there.

Interestingly, Arteon models sold in China are still called VW CCs, despite entirely being different vehicles.
