The Jeep Patriot is a compact crossover SUV that has been manufactured by Jeep since its release in 2006. It was later discontinued in 2017.

There has only been one generation since its debut. Like the Dodge Caliber, it is also built on the GS platform.

The Patriot has a 5-door layout and comes with either front-wheel or all-wheel drive depending on trim levels.

As a compact crossover SUV, it regularly is compared to Subaru Forester, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Ford Escape. It is also very similar to the Jeep Renegade.

Powertrains include two diesel and two petrol engines. Diesel engines are both turbocharged with the choice of either a 2-liter VW inline-4 or a 2.4-liter World inline-4. Petrol options are either both World inline-4s in either 2-liter or 2.2-liter configurations.

There were also different four-wheel-drive systems available. These were the Freedom Drive I and Freedom Drive II. Similar to trim levels, these offered different performance specifications for off-roading.

These powertrains were mated with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. Diesel engines also had the option of a 6-speed manual. The Freedom Drive models also had a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Trim levels consist of the base Sport, Latitude, and Limited for North American models. Those sold in Europe had slightly different trim options. These were again Sport, Sport Plus, Limited, and Overland.

Both this model and the first-generation Jeep Compass were replaced by the second generation of the Compass in 2017. This was the final year of sales for the Patriot.
