The Jeep Renegade is a subcompact crossover SUV that has been manufactured by Jeep since its release in 2014. There has only been one generation so far.
As a subcompact crossover SUV, it has the typical 5-door layout. It comes with either a front-wheel or all-wheel drive system, depending on the trim level selected.
Petrol drivetrains range from the smallest option, the turbocharged 1-liter GSE T3 inline-3, to the largest option, the 2.4-liter Tigershark inline-4.
There are only two diesel options available, either a 1.6-liter or 2-liter Multijet II inline-4, both of which are turbocharged. However, these diesel options are only available in European markets.
Transmission options vary depending on the respective market. There have been both a 5-speed and 6-speed manual, a 6-speed and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, and finally a 9-speed automatic for certain models.
Jeep also released a plug-in hybrid version that is powered by a turbocharged 1.3-liter inline-4 and an FCA eMotor.
Trim levels consist of the base level Sport, followed by the Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. The Limited trim represents the most premium features. The Trailhawk includes features that are designed to increase off-road capabilities.
The Renegade received a number of updates between 2019 and 2022. These have included minor changes to the exterior and interior styling, releases of new engine configurations, and updated technology. The 2022 update also included a change in the available paint color options.
