The Mazda CX-3 is a subcompact crossover SUV that has been manufactured by Mazda since 2014. It was later discontinued and replaced by the Mazda CX-30 for the United States and European markets in 2021.

During its time on the market, there was only one generation. This sole iteration did receive a facelift in 2018.

It features the typical 5-door layout with the option for either front-wheel or all-wheel drive depending on trim level.

Other competitors in the same class include the Vauxhall Mokka, Nissan Juke, and Renault Captur. It also competes with the Mazda3 due to its many similarities.

Powertrains and other mechanical components are similar to those found in the Mazda 2. Gasoline options are either a 1.5-liter or 2-liter Skyactiv-G inline-4. Diesel engines are also a choice of two, being either a 1.5-liter or 1.8-liter Skyactiv-D.

Transmission options are very straightforward, having either the choice of the Skyactiv-MT manual or Skyactiv-Drive automatic 6-speed gearbox.

Trim levels range from the base Sport, followed by Touring, and Grand Touring. However, both the Touring and Grand Touring trims were dropped in certain markets in 2020.

Mazda revealed a high-performance version called the CX-3 Racing Concept in 2015. However, it did not go into production.

The facelift given in 2018 included an updated grille design, revised headlights, and taillights, and added safety features. Mazda also changed the handbrake from manual to electric parking brakes.

Despite being discontinued in two large markets, the CX-3 has received a number of awards throughout its lifespan. The most notable of these include the 2018 Best City SUV and Drive Car of the Year in Australia and the 2015 Red Dot Design Award in Germany.

It has also boasted relatively good sales numbers and reviews.
