The Ford F-250 Super Duty is a heavy-duty pickup truck that falls into Ford’s Super Duty range, a group of larger medium and heavy-duty pickup trucks intended for commercial use. It was first released by Ford in 1999.

It is the smallest member of this series, as denoted by its name. Despite this, it is larger than the F-150 found in the regular F-Series. One of the most notable versions of the larger Super Duty trucks is the larger F-350.

The F-250 has had a total of four generations since its release, with the latest generation having been released in 2017.

The F-250 comes with options for Regular Cab, SuperCab, and SuperCrew. These are standard 2-door, 2+2 2-door, and 4-door variations respectively. These all feature a front-engine mount and either rear-wheel or four-wheel drive.

Drivetrains for the F-250 consist of a number of large petrol and diesel engines. Petrol engines typically from the 6.2-liter Boss SOHC V8 to the 7.3-liter Godzilla OHV V8. Diesel versions are usually outfitted with a turbocharged 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8.

Transmissions for the F-250 are dependent on the chosen engine size, but they typically feature options ranging from 6-speed to 10-speed Torqshift automatics.

Trim levels for the F-250 are XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum. There is a further Limited trim level for specific models.

There is also the Tremor variant of both the F-250 and F-350 that was reintroduced to the Super Duty series in 2020. This version has been upgraded to increase off-road performance in order to compete with the Ram 2500 Power Wagon.

The F-250 was the winner of Truck Trend’s annual Pickup Truck of the Year Award 2020.
