About Ford

Its founder Henry T. Ford didn’t invent the gasoline-powered automobile but he did manage to make it affordable for the common man.

Henry Ford implemented many modern manufacturing techniques into his process that drove down costs and allowed him to produce many units quickly as well.

In 1923, Ford was producing over 2 million Model T examples that year alone resulting in the roads of America being dominated by it.

Ford was producing these at a rate of over 10,000 models per day – which equates to over 7 per minute rolling off the production line.

Over the years since the Ford Motor Company has acquired many of its competitors such as Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin.

It also launched several sub-brands including Lincoln – which specializes in luxury models using many of the same mechanical components under the hood.

Ford is well known for its pickup lines such as the F-150 (which has remained the best-selling automobile in the USA for many years) and the smaller Ranger.

In more recent years they have steered away from sedan models toward crossover SUVs like the Edge and EcoSport.
