The Nissan Armada is a full-size SUV that has been manufactured by Nissan since 2003. There have only been two generations since its initial release, with the latest generation being released in 2017.

It is also called the Nissan Pathfinder Armada and Nissan Patrol depending on the region and even the generation.

Both models received a facelift during their runs. The first generation was updated in 2008. The second generation model received a facelift in 2021.

It features a 5-door layout typical to the SUV class, with either a rear-wheel or four-wheel drivetrain. This all sits atop the Nissan F-Alpha platform for the first generation and Y62 for the second generation models.

The Armada shares a number of similarities with Nissan’s other larger offerings like the Nissan Titan and Patrol for the first and second generations respectively.

Depending on the market, it competes with the likes of the Chevrolet Tahoe, Toyota Sequoia, and Ford Expedition.

Powertrains have been incredibly limited, being limited to only a gasoline 5.7-liter V8 in both generations. These engines are mated with a 5-speed automatic in the first generation and a 7-speed automatic in the second generation.

Trim levels include the base SV, followed by the mid-level SL, and top-tier Platinum levels.

Nissan also released the Mountain Patrol edition in 2022. This variant represents an incredibly rugged model that is heavily focused on off-road capabilities. It goes up against the legendary Toyota Land Cruiser.
